Neil Gaiman's 1989 holiday card sent to friends and coworkers in 1989. The front of the card featured the 100 word short story Nicholas Was... done in calligraphy by Dave McKean. The back had a copyright notice written by Neil ending with "I always wanted to write a copyright notice." The inside was blank. This appearance of Nicholas Was... predates the first public appearance in Drabble II - Double Century.
